I’d like to introduce you to “30 Days of Prayer and Learning: a 30 day journey to knowing your host country and loving its people more deeply”. Through these 30 days, you’ll be praying for different parts of the culture you are living in: the political climate, the healthcare system, the youth, the elderly, the disabled (just to name a few). As you get to know your country better, and pray for them specifically, it’s my prayer that you’ll develop a deeper understanding and empathy of the people you come in contact each day, and that Jesus’ love might flow through you with more ease towards them.
Each day of this series will have a specific prayer, followed by a few “dive deeper” questions. These are designed to help you understand how this facet of culture operates: how is the education system structured? What is this country’s attitude towards foreign NGO’s or faith-based workers? What resources are available for the disabled, or for those in non-traditional family structures? You can choose to dive deeper before or after you pray, alone, or with a local friend who might be able to provide context for you. We encourage you to take just a few minutes each day to learn more about that day’s prayer theme.
You can access 30 Days in a few different ways, ALL of which are free: you can receive in via email each morning (current subscribers, you’re already signed up!), you can listen to it each morning (through the normal podcast channel, right here!), OR you can download one PDF that includes all the prayers ahead of time. I know that publishing media stretched across virtually every time zone often means someone is receiving things at an inopportune time for them: the PDF option assures that you can use the prayer whenever you’d like during the day.
The community 30 days will begin on May 1, 2021. Podcast episodes will begin publishing on this day. But you can do this challenge anytime with this PDF!
